Co-Operative Data eXchange (CDX)
The Co-operative Data eXchange is a 2-way system between all registered Eatbase users.

When you perform an update, Eatbase uploads any food information that you have entered into the software to the CDX, as well as downloading any new food data.

The data that you upload is verified and then merged into the CDX database.  When a quantity of new data has been received, new update files are released containing all the new additions.  In this way, the Eatbase user community gets extensive information on all products in the marketplace that is constantly growing and updating.

When Eatbase uploads any information that you have entered, it identifies you by your registered name.  This allows the CDX to identify any users that may attempt to deliberately introduce bad data into the system and to subsequently ignore them.  It also allows the CDX to recognise and subsequently reward the most helpful contributors.

Note that at no stage is there any corelation between your registered name, and you personally. The CDX does not have any access to the personal information supplied with your registration payment.  This information is also not held or used by Mikoder.

Also note that your personal Eatbase information, such as user names or your diaries are never transmitted or shared.

The CDX is country based, so you will only receive information about products available in your country.  The CDX stores and shares the following country-specific information:
  • Food brand names.
  • Food nutritional panel information.
  • Food nutrient analysis.
  • Nutrients and their recommended intakes.
  • Recommended body weight tables.

Food types are global and shared amongst all users regardless of country.

The CDX is a unique resource fully maintained by and for the Eatbase community.  At no time will Mikoder publicly publish or seek to profit from the CDX and/or the information it contains.
